The GroveBots have recently visited the Atlanta Beltline. The Atlanta Beltline is a newest outdoor space and is comprised of 22 miles of unused railroad tracks circling the core of the city's in-town neighborhoods, the Atlanta BeltLine works to connect people throughout the city. Our trip to the Beltline was probably the most memorable trip we’ve taken. From the 98° weather to the ¾ of a mile walk. Our trip to the Beltline has inspired us to do our project.
During our trip we realized we can transform our school so that it can have some of the similar features as the Beltline. Such as an opening path for people to relax and relieve stress. We were also thinking of splitting our “beltline” into sections. Examples: North wing, and South wing. We were also thinking about adding more art into out beltline so that it’s more colorful to take a walk around our campus.
When we first got to the beltline we started on the east side, which is near the skate park. Our coach (Ms. Brown) set up a scavenger hunt that we had to follow. First, we went to the Rhino statue which represents that are 2 rhinos of this breed in the world that are at breeding age. Next, we had to identify the sentences that were in the graffiti art. Once we kept walking on the beltline we noticed all the different housing that the beltline offers and the open grass space. Our final trip was to Ponce city market, Ponce city market is a beltline establishment that is used for events such as Yoga classes, meet the authors events, board game night, movies on the roof, and other fun events for everyone.
At Ponce city market we finally had a place to relax we had the choice of many different pastries and desserts. Going to the beltline was an experience we should never forget.
